R.Marquez was raised in Southern California and lived in Northern California as an adult along with short stints in Arizona and Colorado. She spent ten years in Texas.
She now lives in the Pacific Northwest. She worked in the corporate world for far too long and began writing when she moved to Washington State. She gains much inspiration from living in the region which she tells friends is the serial killer capital of the world.
